Technical Diver Testimonials

what the students have to say

I feel it is always important to get recommendations about the diving Instructor you will put your faith into to help you achieve your goals, ultimately you will never know if it will be the best method of training for you until you have tried it but it does help if you can obtain a little feedback from past students and customers so here is a few I seem to have made happy.

Clint Kapp- New York,USA

I just finished my TDI Mod1 rebreather course and Hammerhead factory certificationwith Mathew Partridge of Pro Tech Dive College in Chalong, Phuket, Thailand. I've previously certified as a PADI Divemaster, TDI Technical Operations and ServiceTechnician and PADI Tec 40 and 45 diver.

I was looking for an extraordinary educational experience. I was also looking forexperiential wisdom. I got both with Matt in bunches. It began with what machine to use for the class as I would be looking to purchase a unit in the months ahead. After speaking with Matt in the days before the beginning of the course, we decidedto do the training on the Hammerhead Extreme in the Hobo configuration, based on my intended usage and desire to travel with the unit. The main reason for choosing theHammerhead was its modularity. The HH can be upgraded to provide more features as Igrow as a rebreather diver. The big problem with the other units carrying the CEcertification is that they can neither be upgraded and/or modified which imposesunfortunate limitations to an otherwise very expensive machine.

My class went on for seven days, spending lots of time in the classroom, threesessions in the pool and then 6 dives inopen water off a very calm andbeautiful beach, along with lots more classroom time and de-breifings. Matt'steaching style is unique in this day and age, because of his UK diving background. You see, they don't teach certifications where he comes from, they teach diving andthey do the certifications in a group evaluation process over a period of months. This apprenticeship style of teaching carries over very nicely into the 7 day Mod1 course.

This is congruent with my desires; I didn't come to get a c-card, I came to get anexperiential education and that's what makes Matt an uncompromising and greatinstructor… he teaches the meticulous detail and mastery of skills and does so in such an intelligent, yet calming way that is completely devoid of intimidation, degradation or any of the other ego-driven and punitive qualities I've experiencedin the past diving courses.

It was a double win. First was Matt's warm, precise and thorough teaching style andsecond was the Hammerhead and its makers. Everything was beyond my expectations and all the positive experiences provided me with enough adrenaline and challenge tofeel confident in making a buying decision that i will not regret as well as makinga commitment to furthering my education with one of the world's finest rebreatherinstructor/trainers. Even my correspondences with the folks at Hammerhead have beenfantastic!

I am completely and unilaterally satisfied.

Thanks, Matt and thanks, Hammerhead Rebreathers!
