Technical Diver Testimonials

what the students have to say

I feel it is always important to get recommendations about the diving Instructor you will put your faith into to help you achieve your goals, ultimately you will never know if it will be the best method of training for you until you have tried it but it does help if you can obtain a little feedback from past students and customers so here is a few I seem to have made happy.

Max Duopnt – Denmark/france

After a week of completing my OC Adv TMX diver level course, here is my testimonial regarding my course with Mathew Partridge at ProTech.

Contextually, (as a PADI IDCS and active instructor the last 5 years) my adventure with MP started last year (2012) when I decided to get into TecDiving trought DSAT and TDI programs on both divers and instructors levels. Living in Denmark is hard for most of us to "keep diving" actively. That's a reason why I try, at least, to enroll a training program every year. 2013 was a big jump on an OC Adv TMX.

On a period where the CCR is pre-dominant, diving OC on an advanced range of depth is moreless "old school" or not fashion any longer; however it is an essential step on your diving level progression.(theorically and practically). That's why, by choosing MP, as an instructor, was relevant, beneficial, mentaly healthy, extremely rich.

Choosing an instructor is more than important, the role which he gonna play into your education, the reference and mentor he will mean to you is a key element for becoming, first, a good diver and more specifically a good instructor. To me, there is no way that MP is one of those, his experience, his approach, his philosophy of diving definitely bring you further up into diving than the average.

It lead me (even us) to this question when you see an instructor providing a "poor quality" course; the question that you have to ask yourself is: "what education/knowledge/skills did he received himself from his instructor trainer?" So it is more a matter of WHO taught him; right? and WHAT has he been taught to him ? maybe even the IT didn't have the complete experience and/or profile.

Based on that opening question, MP, all along his professional career, has reached such a master level of his discipline; where he took the best from all different agency on the market to mix, analyse and release his own combo who works so perfectly. His versatility make him covering so many aspects of diving (cave, wreck, deep, CCR, equipment, configuration…) that there are no questions that Matt is unable to answer. What makes him a fantastic trainer is the freedom and liberty he let you doing things as you think it should be, but by an impressive and reliable quality of arguments, slowly lead you to the "way of diving" that he thinks is the best.

His dedicated passion, his goal orientation, his "standardization" for diving can only make you completely satisfy by enrolling a course with him.

When I enrolled my course, I had an advantage, I took my previous courses with him so I already knew the training who was waiting me. However, to get the best results and success to pass a course, you have to be aware of beeing "re-educated", in a sens of to be open minded, flexible, simply smart, be able to "re-built" motor skills in your diving approach and what you have been taught of, in theory, practicing skills, equipment….From the beginning, you might feel disorientated, in fact, believe me the satisfaction is worth it after couple of days To a personal perspective, what make MP an amazing instructor by advices tricks, councils, suggestions, tools is because he always bringing up and get the best things out of every agency, organizations instead of "promoting" one or another in particulary, which we all know, without exception, have pros and cons anyway. In another terms, he teaches and trains you as a "reliable" diver before anything else.

As a great achievement, I am leaving with education allowing me to dive dry, use 6 different finning techniques, diving with canister light, rolls 3 stage bottles, in a really good manner, with a perfect understanding of why I am doing it that way.

I arrived "insecured" about myself and Mat help and support me to leave confident in all technical aspect. And I am really thanksful for that.
